We, Meera Seed Limited, are a Vegetable Seed Company, providing premium quality vegetable seed for Bangladeshi Farmers. As a business founded by family, we understand the importance of an unconditional customer service. We believe in long term relationships with our clients. The people of MEERA do what they say and say what they do. Being nationally active for long, we know our way around the country. We literally feel at home at every corner of this land.

Background

The journey started in 2010 as a family business. Figuring out the scope and opportunity in the Agricultural & Horticultural seed, we started trading of Vegetable seed. By 2012-2013, we have set up contract growers for production of Different OP Vegetable Seeds. We had secured the business to sale these Vegetable seeds to top vegetable seed marketers and regional seed merchants across the country.

In 2013, we made our first international contact with leading Japanese vegetable seed breeding companies for selecting varieties which are suitable for Bangladesh climate and market. Through a continuous trialing & selection process for next 2 years in our R&D, we have started marketing our first ever Hybrid Vegetable varieties in 2015 with Cauliflower, Green Cabbage, Red Cabbage & Broccoli in bulk to our customer.

Then our journey continues and we engaged with world leading seed breeding companies from the Netherland, Spain, Thailand & South Korea to try & select best hybrid vegetable varieties for our farmers.

Vegetable Seed: Our Story in Seed Sector

Despite being relatively very young in this industry, we are placing ourselves among very few Seed merchant, who loves to introduce world class researched seed varieties to the Bangladeshi farmers.

We started our journey with OP seed trade and now in collaboration with world’s top vegetable breeding companies from Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Japan, Korea & Thailand, we are bringing new hybrid vegetable seeds.

We claim to be the first Bangladeshi vegetable seed company to work with specialized seed for indoor cultivation, which is the future agriculture. The pioneering indoor farmers are using our seed which specially developed for higher yield with less fertilizer, pesticide & water usage.

Seedling Production: Our journey towards seedling production.

Because, we already marketing technologically advanced vegetable seeds through a small but strong & loyal sales network, so we had realized the importance of a healthy seedlings already. The growing demand of seedlings at farmer’s level encouraged us to rethink about going for production.

Last year, in 2023 we started productions through contract farming at Bogra and Meherpur. The inputs have successfully been distributed to the farmers. Our initial venture got a good success.

This year, we are taking this seedling productions at commercial level. We are starting the seedling production at 3 different locations of the country. At Gazipur, Mymensing and Habiganj, we are setting up seedlings production hub to distribute among the demarked areas.

Beside seeds, now it is our pleasure to announce that, we are here at our farmer’s side to help them out with excellent quality seedling, which are produced from world class seeds.
